As promised, the second half of the batch I posted yesterday! Aren't you so proud of me? :p

"Here"
Look! A bee! Yes, this little fella was trying to pollinate Toler's ear before he figured out there were flowers right next to us. When I saw him I knew I had to track him and take a pic, just to prove that they all haven't disappeared. We still have to solve that mystery, though.

"On a Wing"
I think this one would've looked better with a standard lens, as there's not enough of the blur effect to look like its supposed to be that way.
|
"Mist"
This is one of my favorites from the "shoot." As you can probably tell by the rest of the photos, it was a fairly sunny day. A few clouds, but nothing grey. There were more clouds out this way, and I let the photo get a bit darker and ended up with a nice cloudy, foggy day look. I also managed to actually get what I wanted in focus in focus. (A plus. I was without my glasses. I don't normally wear my glasses while I'm out at the barn because they're annoying and I can see well enough, but if I plan to take pictures I usually bring them along. I forgot.)

"Like Ivory"
Named because of the nice bright glow of his blaze. This was actually an accidental shot, but I kinda like it. It's far from perfect, but I like the lensbaby effect with it. It would've been nice to get the sweet spot over a bit, but, oh well. It was accidental, I'm lucky it turned out at all. ;)

"Distraction"
This one I'm not especially proud of, and only put in here because it amuses me. Mainly because I know my horse. It never fails that while he's eating grass he gets distracted by some noise. He jerks his head up to look at it, generally wide-eyed staring with his ears pricked, and he's so intently focused on whatever it was that he forgets to keep the grass in his mouth and it'll slowly start to fall. It's so adorable. I almost got a chunk of falling grass in the picture, but alas, the shutter speed was just a hair too slow. When I went to snap another shot, the moment had passed and he was wondering why I was laughing. Typical.

"Wishful"
Not one of my favorites, but I think it worked well enough? He was watching some ladies (mares) in the adjoining pasture... Guess what he was wishing. No, he's not a stallion, but he's still quite the ladies' man.

"Daydreamer"
And this is the last image of the "shoot." Again, I'd like it more if the sweet spot was over a bit, but, meh. I like the effect of the dandelions in the background there.
Well, I'm going to go write a chapter. Or, attempt one, rather. But anyway. I'm writing a novel for my honor's project next year (yes, I'll be a senior), and I'm supposed to get a full draft done before classes start up in the fall. That way I can spend the year frantically editing rather than frantically writing then scrambling to edit. If you're curious, the novel is a magical realism piece set in Norway. In it, I'm going to juxtapose the realm of the mythical (that of Alfheim and the Ljosalfar--Norse mythological "light-elves") and the realm of the physical. It'll be a fun one. Hopefully when the project is done it'll be finished enough that I can start sending it out after I graduate.
